Target Group has appointed Jennifer Read as head of risk.
Read brings almost 20 years of expertise to Target in operational risk and governance, working throughout monetary companies and fintech in banking and markets, financial savings and asset administration.
Starting out as a cashier in a NatWest department, Read moved into risk and compliance, becoming a member of Barclaycard and changing into operational and risk compliance officer.
She then labored at Royal London and later F&C Asset Management as operational risk analyst.
In 2010, Read joined RBS as operational risk supervisor for international banking and markets, together with a secondment to discover first line governance and controls.
She later held senior operational risk roles with Morgan Stanley, Allica Bank and fintech TrueLayer, earlier than becoming a member of Goldman Sachs to head enterprise risk for Marcus, a retail financial savings app.
In her new function, Read will lead Target’s second line risk staff, working with CRO Jonathan Hole and the broader staff to develop, keep and improve risk administration and adherence to governance throughout the enterprise.
