Former cupboard minister Sir James Cleverly has been named shadow housing secretary in Conservative Party chief Kemi Badenoch’s reshuffle of her senior workforce.
His new appointment will see him go head-to-head with Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner within the House of Commons.
Announcing Sir James’s return to the entrance bench, Badenoch mentioned her social gathering was “shifting into a brand new section” and she or he needed to verify all her heavy hitters have been on the bench.
